Privacy policy

This policy covers this website only. It is written to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

The responsible party for your information, in POPIA's words, is Volea Padel Centre (registration number 2024/202286/07), trading as Volea Sport City.

What we collect

What you type into the contact form: your name, your email address and your message. We do not ask for anything we do not need in order to reply to you.

If you allow it, information about how the site is used, through Google Analytics. See Cookies and analytics below. If you do not allow it, nothing is collected about your visit.

To stop the form being abused, our server counts how many messages have come from one internet connection in the past hour. It stores a one-way scrambled version of the address, never the address itself, and that entry is discarded within the hour.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site. It only runs if you press Allow when the site asks. Until then, and if you say no, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set.

If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records the pages you view, how far down them you scroll, the links you follow off the site (such as a booking link), roughly where you are (to the nearest city), the kind of device and browser you use, and the site that sent you here. Google uses your internet address to work out the location and does not store the address itself. We see the results as totals and trends, not as a record of you.

Google provides this service and may process the information on servers outside South Africa, under its own data protection terms. We keep the data for 14 months, and we do not use it for advertising or combine it with any other information about you.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page. Saying no removes the analytics cookies. The site remembers your answer in your own browser, so it does not ask on every page.

There are no advertising pixels and no other third-party tracking, and there is no mailing list to be added to.

What we do with it

We use what you send only to answer you. The contact form is handled on our own hosting and emailed to us, so your message is not passed through a third-party form service. We do not sell it, share it or use it for marketing.

Our hosting is in Johannesburg, South Africa. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, that message sits with the provider you used to send it, under their own terms.

Links to other businesses

Several activities at Volea are run by independent businesses, and booking one takes you to that business's own website. Once you leave this site, you are covered by their privacy policy and not by this one.

How long we keep it

Your message stays in our email for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and to keep a record of what was agreed. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email info@volea.co.za and we will respond.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Changes

If we change how this site handles your information, we will change this page and update the date at the top.
